So I have used Egress since what seems like forever on my Windows Mobile Device. I have used Egress on Pocket Pc, SmartPhone and a bunch of other non-existent platforms. Let me just say after playing with NewsGator Go! for the last few hours I am sold! And it wasn't that hard seeming it is free and syncs up with NewsGators other services. This reader will work on your CrackBerry, Windows Mobile Device and Any Java Enabled Phone (Hi Android!). It allows you to view a mobile optimized version

I love it when our loyal CrackBerry members volunteer the time and effort to put together a real masterpiece for the CrackBerry blogs. Today we have Paul Johnson, aka pmjohnson99, with his in-depth impressions of Sprint's new BlackBerry Curve 8330. This is Paul's first BlackBerry, but I wouldn't consider him a Newbie. He became a member of CrackBerry.com months ago and like so many other CDMA subscribers out there waited eagerly for the 8330's release. When he finally got his hands on his

Those following Research in Motion's upcoming device know that RIM is working on a next-generation touchscreen BlackBerry. Initially, those onlookers have speculated this to be RIM's strategy to compete with the iPhone, especially in the prosumer space and as the iPhone will be entering the corporate space with Exchange ActiveSync licensing from Microsoft. However, a closer look reveals the BlackBerry to have a touchscreen and sliding QWERTY keyboard, not unlike the HTC TyTN II.

Is the new sliding BlackBerry featured on RIMarkable aimed at the iPhone, or is this aimed at a more aggressive Microsoft that is projecting great growth in the near future? The sliding form factor was popularized in the SideKick, which Microsoft had since acquired, and on HTC devices in the smartphone arena.

More importantly, will RIM be able to master the sliding form factor? HTC devices running atop Windows Mobile Professional have been plagued with slow screen rotation. Hopefully, RIM's operating system will take less toll on system resources and provide an adequate user experience.

Whatever the case, RIM looks to have many form factors covered--a flip in the form of the recent announcement of the , the SureType-enabled ...

Today I've finally given a full attempt at learning to use a BlackBerry and trying to decipher what's so good about it. This review follows my experience with the T-Mobile version of the current top-of-the-line BlackBerry 8820. We'll go over some special things about the T-Mobile version of this device as well as my general experience with the BlackBerry side of life from the perspective of a Windows Mobile user." Read on for more!

The experience you get from interacting with a Windows Mobile devices comes from the software. We know this because you can get the platform in a dozen form factors, and the experience is generally the same. The same can be said about Symbian. For WinMO and Symbian, it's the software powering the device that creates the experience, not the hardware.

An iPhone is an iPhone because of the hardware and the software. Could there be an iPhone that has a hardware keyboards? Well, that wouldn't be an iPhone.

The same model applies to BlackBerry - a platform that has been attached to the same hardware form factor (candy-bar with QWERTY) since its inception. It's clear that what makes BlackBerry a BlackBerry is, like the iPhone, both hardware and software. Oddly, RIM is betting against this idea by releasing a full touchscreen device with no keyboard.

The BlackBerry Thunder, slated for a release in the second half of this year, will challenge the BlackBerry form factor paradigm. Perhaps the Thunder will appeal to consumers, but it may cause the brand to lose clout with business users, especially ...

Research in Motion (RIM) is upping the game with the soon to be released BlackBerry 9000, which is rumored to have the name the BlackBerry Bold, much like the 8300 series became the BlackBerry Curve. The Bold is seen as an advanced PDA that combines the consumer multimedia of the BlackBerry Curve and the professional looks from the BlackBerry 8800 series.

Does the BlackBerry Bold have what it takes to compete in the consumer segment with the HTC Touch Diamond and the iPhone?

According to CrackBerry, the specs are:

    *Size - Length: 144mm, Width: 66mm, Thickness: 14mm
*Weight (with battery) - 133g (same as the 88xx series. I can attest to it!)
*Memory - 1GB on-board (storage) and 128 MB Flash (applications)
    *Battery - 1500mAhr lithium cell
*Est. Battery Life - Standby: 13 days, Talk Time: 5 hours
    *Network Support - UMTS: 2100 / 1900 / 850MHz, GSM: 1900 / 1800 / 900 / 850 MHz, GPRS, EDGE and HDSPA networks

The Startrek smartphone was a popular phone for many reasons--it was one of the few in the clamshell form factor. Most smartphones are either candybar or sliders. It looks like Research in Motion wants to revive the form factor, but will it have much success? HTC canned the design for several years now.

According to The Boy Genius Report, the phone will come as the BlackBerry Kickstart with a big external and internal screen, a navigation trackball like the BlackBerry Pearl, and a SureType keyboard.

Is this the answer to the missing form factor? If you aren't opposed to the BlackBerry OS, you may want to check out the Kickstart when it is released within the year.

No more information was available, including pricing nor availability.
