With Microsoft pushing for Vista and consumers clamoring for the stability and familiarity of Windows XP, PC-maker Dell is extending the deadline to order an XP machine until June 26th. If you are in the market for a new Dell and definitely want XP pre-loaded, this is your last chance.
According to The Boy Genius Report, the extension applies only to select Dell computers: various versions of the Inspiron 530 and the XPS 630 systems.
For many systems from a variety of PC-manufacturers, users can opt to have XP pre-loaded with a free upgrade to Vista should the user be comfortable for the self-installed upgrade in the future.
For many of our smartphone and PDA readers, the question really boils down to ActiveSync (on XP) versus Mobile Device Center (on Vista).
