The Touch Pro, like the Diamond, will turn out to be one the hottest Windows Mobile phone releases of 2008. It shares similar hardware to the coveted Touch Diamond, but adds a keyboard, bigger battery, microSD slot (and much less onboard storage space), and TV-Out function. This could be the ultimate device for the business user to date.

Right now, I'm getting it all set up, and I can already tell you that interacting with the device is unlike any other phone I've worked with. There is so much refinement throughout the hardware and software; you can tell that HTC wanted to make this a true gem. The screen rotation from portrait to landscape is the fastest that I've ever seen on a Windows Mobile phone. And the keyboard feels fantastic - much better than the TyTN II/Kaiser. I'm quite impressed thus far.

This is a European import, and thus lacks the UMTS850 band, meaning that the best data speed you can get over in the US is EDGE.

Lots more to come!

The wait has been long. Following the release of the Moto Q9h Windows Mobile 6.1 update, we now have one for the AT&T Tilt, which can be procured from the HTC website. Let us know how it goes!

Update: As sjobstouchedme points out (gotta love the name), this is NOT Windows Mobile 6.1 - it's 6.0! I just went through the ROM installation process on my Tilt to confirm. If you click on for more information about the ROM update, it mentions WinMo 6.1, which probably means that the update entry has been set up as a placeholder - and I wouldn't be surprised if the real 6.1 update came out this week. Make the taunting stop! =D

The lads over at TheTechLounge have put up their thought on the HTC P3450 Touch Smartphone. The HTC Touch seemed to bring in a possitive feel for its excellent call quality, attractive looks, accessories galore in the box, and that TouchFLO is just darned fun to use. Not all was perfect however the unit was hampered by its small screen, lack of keyboard, wird SD card positioning, and hefty price tag. Quote: Timing is everything. The HTC Touch was introduced on June 5th of last year, 24 days before the first iPhone launched in the US. The device bears great similarity to its cousin from Cupertino, from the simple, largely button-free hardware to an overall focus on operation with the fingers. Although the two devices look like they share some blood, I think that the Touch is special in its own right. HTC has put a great deal of thought into the design of the Touch, inside and out. They’ve written an entire UI modification suite that actually works the way it should, which is more than can be said for most manufacturers’ efforts in this area. At the end of the day, however, you may just have to look at what ...
