Leaks from the web have confirmed the presence of the HTC QUAR100 smartphone. The certification comes from the WiFi Interoperability Certificate, which many speculate will end up as the HTC Quartz. MobileTopSoft is speculating that the model will be following the Diamond convention with the gemstone-based names.

It was just a matter of time until someone reverse engineered the code of HTC’s TouchFlo 3D. XDA Developers’ D-MAN666 came out with the first TF3D Application, which is a completely new, custom tab for the Manila interface on HTC Diamond and Raphael devices.

This free application is a Calendar, which is completely integrated in the shiny Manila interface. Current version 0.7 also comes with Multilanguage support and finger flick control, which brings you a very nice flip animation going from one month to the other.

Today we got word of HTC's awe-inspiring, drool-inducing, and oh-so-high-resolution Touch HD. We also noted how this is HTC's strongest attempt at creating an iPhone 3G competitor.

We just spotted some dimensions over on PDAdb.net, so we thought it would be fun to compare the iPhone, iPhone 3G, and HTC Touch HD (plus Samsung Omnia, for good measure).

The result? Holy moly - in almost every dimension, the Touch HD (shown in dark gray) is identical to the iPhone and iPhone 3G! Heck, it's even a pintch thinner than the 3G. I can't wait to see this thing!

We knew that the Touch Diamond was coming to Sprint, but as of this morning and an official press release from Sprint, so is the Touch Pro!

The HTC Touch product line continues to grow! This time it's with the gorgeous Touch HD, a device with HTC's first WVGA screen (that's Windows Mobile's maximum allowed resolution) at 800x480. We don't have a size on the screen, but it's probably around 3.0 or 3.1 inches, given the resolution. It's got the 528MHz CPU borrowed from the Touch Pro and Touch Diamond, plus has 512MB ROM and 128MB of RAM. See a few more juicy pictures over at Modaco.

Update: Modaco is showing some additional specs on the Touch HD.

- It's just 12mm thick! Wow, that's about the same thickness as the first generation iPhone.
- It's 288MB RAM, not 128MB (thanks marios).
- Battery size is a bit on the small size, probably to conserve space, at 1350mAh.
- 3.5mm headphone jack!
- Camera is 5MP.
- Available towards the end of this year.

These specs make it clear that this release is intended to be an iPhone 3G competitor more than any HTC device release to date.
