If you're wondering if you really need the new Asus P565 with the fastest processor on any phone in the world at this time, then the above video should show off Asus' amazing video performance, even rendering frames crisply and fast on a VGA display. The P565 did a much better job against the VGA Touch Diamond. Both devices have a 2.8" VGA display. Videos and graphics really put a toll on the processor on a VGA display compared to a QVGA display as there are four times as many pixels on the same size screen. The faster processor on the Asus handheld really aids the display in keeping with the video framerate.

The Asus P565 will be the fastest Windows Mobile device, sporting Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, at release. It will boast an 800 MHz processor to get you through your applications with little or no lags. The device will have tri-band GSM/EDGE and single band HSPA so the phone will not see a North American release. However, it does come with WiFi, 2.8" VGA display, and a 3-megapixel camera.

Asus will also be releasing its Glide user interface along with the phone. According to the::unwired, the device will be targeted towards business users with its new interface, fast processor, and leather accents similar to that found on the BlackBerry Bold.

According to the DigiTimes, Asus will be shipping a $200 netbook in 2009. Not much details is given about the low-range EeePC model that will ship, but this is welcome news for those who need a cheap, secondary system that they can tote around without worries about loss or damage.

On another note, on the high end, Asus will also add a high-end gamer-friendly machine with a discreet graphics processing unit (GPU).

A forum post over at XDA-Developers shows that a new PDA is coming from Asus with an 800 MHz processor, which is really fast for the PDA world as most smartphones and PDAs on the market today hover between 400 MHz and 600 MHz. The device is rumored to be available by October with the following specs: 128MB RAM, 256MB ROM, 2.8" VGA screen, 3-megapixel camera, WiFi, Bluetooth, microSD and 1300 mAh battery. Additional pictures can be found on CNET, although the site is in Chinese. The device will go by the model name P565 and hardware styling is reminiscent of some of the recent HP iPAQs.
